In the 1920’s there were many different changes to America like prohibition, which was the banning of alcohol, and for a period of time it was illegal to manufacture, sell, and transport alcohol. Another big thing was fundamentalism and the scopes trail. Fundamentalism was the belief in the basic truths of one’s religion. The scopes trail was about how john scopes taught Darwin’s theory which was the theory of evolution and which went against the holy bible. Scopes was found guilty and charged 100 dollars because of this. What was also new in the twenties was jazz music, which formed after World War 1. Movies became popular and the first movie with sound was produced in 1927. With the help of jazz and new movies it marked the beginning of new opportunities for the music and movie industries.
